ADES Santa Marta organized the discussion, “Organic agriculture and its benefits for family and community,” where more that 100 campesinas and campesinos from Santa Marta, Victoria, and Guacotecti of Cabañas, and Palo Grande, Milingo and Perulapía of Cuscatlán participated.
More than 100 campesinas and campesinos, trained by ADES, are producing organically in communities in Cabañas and Cuscatlán.
“Reviving the use of native seeds generates a positive economic impact for campesinas and campesinos because they avoid buying hybrid, genetically modified seeds, while also caring for their health,” says Creydi Rivera, coordinator of the Sustainable Agriculture Program.
Father Fausto Milla, together with other members of the Honduran Ecumenical Institute of Community Service (INESHCO), gave a two-day course on Natural Medicine with ADES Santa Marta.
ADES concluded the year of training at the 2016 Organic Agriculture School. More than 75 campesinas and campesinos participated in the program from Victoria, Guacotecti, and Dolores, in Cabañas, and Perulapía and Suchitoto, in Cuscatlán.
