Fourteen water councils from across Cabañas, accompanied by ADES and the Health Forum, delivered a letter to the Legislative Assembly in Cabañas this morning, demanding no water privatization.

Pacific Rim-Oceana Gold pay the Salvadoran State $8 million dollars for the ICSID arbitration

The Canadian mining company paid El Salvador $8,097,072, a figure determined by the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in October 2016, after finalizing the arbitration process that the company held against El Salvador.
Without more female participation, we cannot achieve real change

When women have power, they improve the lives of the people around them, starting with themselves and their families. For that reason, ADES started a Human Rights education process with more than 25 women from Santa Marta, Cabañas, with the purpose of training them to defend their rights.
The Free School: Art workshops to prevent violence

From the communities of Cabañas devastated during the civil war in the 1980’s arose a community initiative to prevent youth violence: The Free Schools. It is a comprehensive learning space that brings together community artists and students in order to encourage learning and remove students from the harmful structures in their communities.
